A chatty and informative walk along Willesden High Road in aid of the Mayor of Brent's charities.

Sunday 27th October 2019, 11am - 1pm

Led by Irina Porter, Blue Badge Guide and Chair of Willesden Local History Society, and Alan Hovell and others of Camden Tour Guides Association.

The Mayor of Brent, Councillor Ernest Ezeajughi, will join us on the walk.

The buildings of Willesden's High Road have had many uses over the past century and a bit, being home to shops of all kinds, light industry, the music business, places of worship and of entertainment. Local historians and guides will take you along the road bringing its history to life with stories of the changing communities of North West London - the Willesden Jewish, Caribbean and Welsh communities, to name just three.

We will meet outside Willesden Green Station, Walm Lane, NW2 4QT at 11am.

Booking is essential, please go to the Eventbrite page. Tickets are free but we are taking an envelope collection for the Mayor's charities, the Sickle Cell Society and the Jason Roberts Foundation, which both have their roots in Brent. Suggested donation £10 for waged people.
